Meet the FAMAS

The FAMAS is one of, if not my all-time favorite weapon in Modern Warfare 2. The combination sheer damage, high accuracy, burst fire, and amazing iron sights make it a formidable gun to hold onto.

For damage, the FAMAS will take most targets out with one or two burst. Generally anywhere from 2-5 actual points of contact will do the job.

The accuracy is not as good as the ACR or the M16, but even at long ranges, clean kills are very possible. Medium-long is the most preferable range, but medium and close range are sure kills. The FAMAS does have a small amount of upward kickback, but this can be taken advantage of. If you are targeting a medium-long range target in the chest, shots should hit him in 1) The chest, 2) The neck, 3) The head. Perfect! With a silencer, the FAMAS is still fairly accurate at medium-long range which makes it a very worthwhile attachment to use.

I find burst fire to be more advantageous for distance shooting as it allows much more control than Spray and Pray'ing. An accurate weapon + 3 shots = a clean kill.

The iron sights are very very accurate and as well, are very thin and leave a lot of unobstructed space on the screen. Being able to see more of your surrounding is extremely useful, but using guns with a larger sight (M4A1 iron sight or Tar Red Dot//MARS sight) will restrict your viewing area. In addition, the accurate iron sights make it worthwhile to use a non-sight equipment on the FAMAS. I commonly use the Grenade Launcher in case I need an explosive or arc attack. Other good choices are FMJ (I personally have no luck with FMJ, but it is still worthwhile), silencer, and shotgun.
